It’s important to have a spatially searchable data catalogue that enables your geoscientists to quickly assess the coverage, type and vintage of the geophysical data that you hold over any given area. These smart systems are semi-automated, and a catalogue maintenance scheme automatically harvests spatial information from any survey dataset.
Any concern about legacy data can be resolved and enhanced. Data is often difficult to find, out of date, or poorly documented. Our best practice platform offers you the ability to automatically identify data and then publish it on a centralised, secure server with data mirroring to server sites of the primary data server. Along with your survey data, you can also archive study reports, processing reports, exploration reports, geology observations, surface geochemical data, drill-hole reports, and drill hole geophysical, geochemical and assay data.
The implementation of these types of technologies includes a standard web browser to search for datasets, allowing you to choose subsets of data to minimise download data size. These technologies can be deployed with a pay-as-you-use service to generate income for the company or government manager. You can download data and reports or request actual data with no loss of resolution or precision.

At the start of every project, geoscientists need to search for the right data to use, which takes time and money. Legacy data isn’t trusted, so technical work is often re-done, costing more money. Reports and knowledge are often stored on local machines rather than in project areas, and these are often lost when people move onto different projects, costing even more money. In addition, data duplication requires more and more disk space, which adds more expenditure.
The solution is to take all the data on the network and electronically tag it to a particular entity like a well, survey or field, based on a set of user-defined rules, and then create a virtual directory structure containing all the relevant data. This process maps all of the data in its current location, locating and identifying all the data in all its formats, in all possible repositories, and establishing a map of the data and information landscape that exists in your organisational environment.

Our geophysicists and engineers use a combination of mathematical models and physical measurement techniques to simulate the subsurface of underground resources. An ever-increasing array of innovative technologies is improving the quality and accuracy of subsurface images and the speed with which they can be interpreted.
Data Management
We’re at the forefront of advances in the quality and processing of data from the subsurface of the earth, and we pride ourselves on being a first-adopter of emerging technology. We lead the industry in the adoption of high-tech to solve complex problems.
Past projects include thousands of wells/bores automatic logging; airborne data acquisition; processing and interpretation of gravity, magnetic, radiometric, seismic acquisition processing and interpretation; geochemistry; time lapse data such as 4D seismic and magnetotellurics; and next generation technology that can be tailored for a particular company or government use.
All of these technologies and related data/interpretation can be incorporated and managed within private or public networks for optimised client or investor engagement, to maximise the return for the company, government or governmental agency.
Quality Assurance of Data and National Database
We conduct quality control (QC) on geophysical and geological datasets held by National Survey (NS) institutions over a clearly defined area of interest.
We deliver scoping studies to establish a prioritised list of areas of interest. The highest priority will depend on which area can be best organised and which areas could be most prospective.
With the availability of known geophysical and geological datasets that cover parts of South America, we cross-reference these against the NS holdings, and QC those that are available and not already held by NS. The audits of existing and available datasets are an integral component of any effort to build a comprehensive dataset and, in our experience, it has been an essential ingredient in the success of government programs such as this for developing and emerging economies.
We consolidate all available datasets, process them into a database and identify any priority regions that require infill geophysical and geological surveys.
